Why can't I download the app?

We only support iPhone 15 Pro or higher, and iPads with an A17 Pro or M-series chip, because Manicule needs the on-device AI chips in those devices. It also needs iOS 27 or later.

I have a supported device, but it says it can't run on my device

Manicule needs Apple Intelligence turned on. To turn it on:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri.
3. Turn on Apple Intelligence.
4. Come back to Manicule.

Equations and tables look garbled

Accept the optional extended model when Manicule offers it (1.1 GB, use Wi-Fi) and make sure Low Power Mode is off. In Low Power Mode, or on a very hot phone, the models that read maths and tables are skipped.

There are limitations around Apple's implementation, which is optimised for device longevity, battery and resource management. Manicule works within those limits, so heavy processing may be held back when your device needs to save power or cool down.

Parts of my page are not quite right

We have strived to create something useful, but these technologies will not work for every document, every time. For many documents it will be a great improvement. The original page is always one tap away, so you can check anything that looks off, and you can tell us about it at the address above.

Importing takes a while

Everything is processed on your device, so the newer the device, the better the hardware and the faster it goes. Long papers take a few minutes on first import. You can start reading while the later pages finish.
